Dr Gandhi If you were a child of the eighties living on the South Shore, no doubt you have a few fond memories.

You likely remember Tiffany’s version of Tommy James & The Shondells 1967 hit, I Think We’re Alone Now playing at The Teen Club on King Street. You probably remember the opening day of Dairy Queen on Lahave Street and the line-up that nearly crossed the old bridge.  And mostly likely, you recall the gentle manner of Dr. Gandhi as he checked your throat for tonsillitis, or your ears for an ear infection. Perhaps he unwillingly caused you a little pain with a shot. If that’s the case, you likely felt another tinge of pain when you heard of his passing. Dr. Gandhi was an exceptional doctor, and an even better person. There is not better evidence of that than with his final gift to the community.
