Oak Island Shares the Dream For Local Charity, Again!

botttle picIt’s take two for the “Oak Island Shares the Dream” online auction.

The popular fundraiser will see numerous Oak Island core samples produced during The Curse of Oak Island hunt, as well as items donated by hunt leader Rick Lagina, will hit the online auction block September 30-October 3, 2020, with 100% of the proceeds going to two worthy charities, including the Health Services Foundation of the South Shore.

The first Oak Island Shares the Dream auction, in October 2019, raised over $19,000. The idea to use these samples to support local charities started with Geologist Terry Matheson as he was discarding some 2017 Oak Island Drill Program Samples.

"As you can imagine, while shooting The Curse of Oak Island, Season 5 we stored a large number of Money Pit soil and shaft samples from our treasure hunt that year." said Matheson, the geologist from the popular TV show. "As I was actually dumping our carefully documented samples onto the ground it occurred to me that people who really care about the program, and the search, might be interested in these products of 'the hunt', and might want to purchase this small part of the dream. It would be a unique fundraiser, and 'Oak Island Shares the Dream' was born".

The “Oak Island Shares The Dream: Take 2” auction will launch on September 30, 2020 and will run through to October 3 at 9pm. To compliment the online auction, there will also be a Facebook Live stream at 7:00 pm October 3, live from Oak Island. The Oak Island samples from the 2017 and 2018 digs are all signed by Rick Lagina, Marty Lagina, Craig Tester and Dave Blankenship. One hundred percent of the proceeds will be split between the Health Services Foundation of the South Shore and the Colchester East Hants Hospice Society.”
