Community Initiative Delivers Chemo Caps to Journey Room

IMG 2893 Donations to South Shore Regional Hospital come in all sizes and, in this case, materials!

Lynn Jones from Lynn’s Quilting Studio donated 64 Chemo Caps to the Journey Room at South Shore Regional Hospital. These caps were the result of the hard work of over fifteen volunteers who gathered at the Quilting Studio in July to craft the caps from supplies donated by community groups and businesses.

Lynn hopes to make this an annual event.

The Journey Room, funded by the Health Services Foundation’s Radiothon 2015, is a special oasis in the middle of South Shore Regional Hospital for chemotherapy patients to receive different treatments, to rest and talk with others going through the cancer journey. These Chemo Caps will be offered to all chemotherapy patients who would like one for free.
