What does the Health Services Foundation of the South Shore do?

The Health Services Foundation of the South Shore promotes, raises funds for, and supports the South Shore Regional Hospital and Fishermen's Memorial Hospital in the delivery of enhanced health care through fundraising and advocacy.

How does the Health Services Foundation of the South Shore raise money?

We host annual fundraisers, such as the Radiothon, Hit It For Health, and the Women’s Giving Circle just to name a few. Our community initiates fundraiser on our behalf.  We also have very generous donors. Without our community, none of what we do would be possible.

How can I help the Health Services Foundation of the South Shore?

There are many ways that you can help the Foundation, from volunteering your time, donating to one of our fundraisers, as a memoriam for a loved one or by leaving the Foundation a gift in your will.

I had exceptional care at the hospital and I would like to recognize my caregivers. Does the Health Services Foundation of the South Shore offer a recognition program?

Yes we do! Our Champion of Care program honours healthcare providers and hospital staff with a certificate and pin. If you would like to make a donation and recognize someone, please call 902-543-8065 - we would love to hear your story.

I can’t donate funds to the Foundation, but I do have some securities that I’d like to see benefit the community. Can the Foundation use those?

Absolutely! And in fact, we can make sure that your wishes are honoured through a planned giving program. please contact our Executive Director Arleen Stevens if you have any questions 902-543-4604 ext. 2542.

I would like to get my workplace involved in helping the Foundation. In what ways can we help?

There are many ways in which your workplace, school or group can get involved in helping the Foundation. Whether it decides to become a sponsor, donate your casual day funds or potluck proceeds or host a fundraiser, there are many ways that we can use your support. We'd love to chat and customize ideas that will enable your group to help the Foundation and have fun while doing it! Please contact Development Officer Alison Clements 902-543-4604 ext. 2543. We'll even provide you with a fundraising guide!

Fashion For Our Future is back and bigger than ever, being hosted for the first time by students at Park View Education Centre!

This event is in support of Radiothon 2018, which will bring a new ultrasound unit to South Shore Regional Hospital. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and will be available at the Health Services Foundation office in South Shore Regional High School or at the door the night of the event.

Be entertained by the amazing talents of JP Cormier & Dave Gunning while supporting the construction of two MIS (Minimally Invasive Surgical Suites) at South Shore Regional Hospital.
